The Sunshine Coast Cannabis Clinic provides a bespoke, patient-centric approach to care.
We take our patients on a 6 month journey where we walk along you every step of the way to ensure you receive the benefits of this unique second-line treatment.
Our administrative team will coordinate your journey to ensure that you receive the best possible level of care and attention.
Medicinal Cannabis prescription requires paperwork to ensure compliance with the latest regulations and we will take care of that for you.
Our Practice Nurse will consult with you to understand and document your symptoms to ensure you receive the correct medication for your needs.
The Nurse will consult with our Lead Physician during or after your visit.
The initial consultation will take one hour.
The Practice Nurse and Lead Physician will analyse your requirements and results throughout your treatment when you are not present in order to ensure you receive the results you require from this treatment.
You will be seen for 20 minutes for three instances every 2 weeks.
This is to ensure the medication is working and to put in place any adjustments required.
You will be seen monthly for 20 minutes every four weeks for five occasions.
This will enable your care pathway to be maintained for your direct benefit.
Your scripts will be issued as required by the clinic.
Medication will incur an extra cost and will be purchased directly by you from our preferred supplier.

To be eligible for medicinal cannabis in Australia, patients must have a chronic condition for which there is some evidence that medicinal cannabis can help and must have exhausted or be unable to use conventional therapies for their indication. Please note not all conditions will respond to Medicinal Cannabis treatment.

What Conditions could Medicinal Cannabis treat
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has no restrictions on the conditions that a Medical Practitioner can apply to access Medical Cannabis for their patient.
The TGA will consider any condition lasting longer than 3 months that hasn’t responded to first line conventional treatments. The TGA will assess each individual patient’s application, and there is no guarantee that the application will be approved.

To date, the TGA has approved Medicinal Cannabis treatment for over 50 conditions. These include, but are not limited to, the following indications:
- Anorexia and wasting associated with chronic illness (such as cancer)
- Immune Disorders
- Multiple sclerosis
- Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
- Cancer pain
- Palliative care
- AIDs nausea/vomiting
- Tourette syndrome
- Crohn’s Disease
- Non-Cancer Pain
